Lepo's main areas of operation include seating furniture for public spaces and ship interior design, which largely relies on custom work.
User-centered design and seamless compatibility between furniture series are central to our collection. The entire extensive range has been awarded both the Key Flag and Design from Finland labels, strongly communicating the family business's values, high level of domestic content, and the importance of design.
Since 1953
Lepo was born in response to the post-war reconstruction and the growing demand for furnishing homes during the period of prosperity. It was founded in 1953 under the name Lahden Lepokalusto Oy. Initially, the factory manufactured spring mattresses, sofa beds, and recliners.
Since 1958, Lepo has collaborated with renowned interior architects. From the early 1960s onwards, Lepo's production has increasingly focused on furnishing public spaces. Examples include professor Yrjö Kukkapuro's first chair series, Moderno (1958-62), and interior architect Esko Pajamies's Polar collection (1965), both of which are still part of the Lepo collection.
