Lifecycle carbon footprint
The product-specific carbon footprint indicates the environmental impact caused by the activity. When calculating the carbon footprint, all emission sources generated during the product's lifecycle are taken into account. In product-specific calculations, the carbon footprint is examined according to two boundaries.
The cradle-to-gate boundary reflects the carbon footprint that arises from the production of raw materials, the transportation of raw materials, and the manufacturing of the product. The cradle-to-grave boundary reflects the carbon footprint that considers the entire lifecycle of the product, from the production of raw materials to the final disposal of the product.
Product-specific emission calculation, background information & scope
The product-specific emission calculation for Lepo has been conducted in accordance with the SFS-EN ISO 14067:2018 standard, "Greenhouse gases – Carbon footprint of products – Requirements and guidelines for quantification." The results of the calculation are reported in carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e), which account for the different climate-warming effects of various greenhouse gases. The calculation was performed by Green Carbon in 2023.
